Canstruction is one of the most unique food charities in the world. Magnificent sculptures built almost entirely of canned goods are created by local teams of architects, engineers & students and then displayed for the public to see. Judges rate the sculptures and winners compete nationally in the Canstruction competition. But the best part is that when the sculptures are deconstructed, all of the canned goods used are loaded up and donated to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry and the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
In 2011 Canstruction was bigger and better than ever. Over 70,000 pounds of much needed food were collected. With the economy in its current state, more and more people are in need of assistance and less people are able to help. The local food pantries are low on supplies and the demand is increasing. You can increase local community awareness for your company and the Canstruction drive by being a part of the 2012 event.
While this year's environmental theme allowed Canstruction to raise unprecedented amounts of food in the Saint Louis area, it also shined a spotlight on our fragile earth. In that spirit Canstruction proudly supports the causes that inspired such generosity.
